An impassioned Dr. Asa Hilliard III presents a scholarly and in-depth account of the shortcomings of our educational system, its history, perpetuation and remedies, if we are serious about its correction. This recording is a timeless must for educators, parents, and anyone interested in the future of all children and the ensuing state of the world, regardless of ethnic identity. But, particularly in regard to the child of African descent, Dr. Hilliard comprehensively explains an educational system that has covertly and overtly socialized children of African descent not to believe in themselves by a plethora of strategies.

His list of methods by which cultural suicide is accomplished is astounding but, without a doubt, evident. Though intellectually critical of our system of education, he is broad and thorough in his examination, understanding that many educators have also "fallen between the cracks" in their educational
process, based upon their own mis-information and lack of knowledge. He clearly defines the magnitude and far-reaching effects of this systematic, persuasive and continuous defamation of Africans which leave us in a world, today, that must be reckoned with, carefully examined and acted upon if we are to mold healthy future generations out of a 400-year-old struggle against mis-education and mis-socialization. He complements his lecture with recommended literature for those who require additional substantiation, reference and resolution.

Dr. Hilliard also defines socialization as "education plus" with all its intricacies and traits for a strong African identity that must also be cultivated and nourished within the family structure.

His eye-opening and scholarly approach to a clear understanding is absolutely invaluable.
